Arcadia Cafe is pleased to announce our next featured artist: Ames native Lyndsay Nissen. Come enjoy some fantastic Arcadia coffee and stay to study this exhibit. Here is a statement from Creative Allies:

“Currently living back in her home town of Ames, Iowa, Lyndsay A. Nissen is submerged in creating art and farming organically. She recently returned, after graduating from the University of California Santa Cruz. With a focus on painting and a love for sculpture, her work has evolved into a blend of these two disciplines. By utilizing materials considered garbage, she has created a three-dimensional illusion, that turns trash into landscapes and figures with paint. Her major visual influences are the much unseen aspects of the Mid-West states , following in other regionalists footsteps, such as Iowa’s own Grant Wood.”

Check out more of Lyndsay’s work on her Tumblr site.
